FAQ
The Swedish Coast and Sea Center (SCSC) is a non-profit and public benefit association that operates independently of the state, the municipality, religious, political, and private interests. The SCSC's objective is to raise awareness among all stakeholders, including the state, municipality, county council, businesses, citizens, and tourists, about the crucial role played by our coastal and sea areas. Everything we do in this region has a direct impact on what we will experience and the legacy we leave behind for future generations.
We advocate for ecologically sustainable oceans and coastlines while preserving our cultural heritage. By cultural heritage, we mean the remains of marine structures such as shipwrecks, aircraft wrecks, old harbour locations, fairway barriers, anchor piles, vessels, old fishing facilities, and Stone Age settlements. These structures serve as a reminder of historical events that took place in the area.
